Mitigation Technician

Position Summary

The Mitigation Technician primary responsibility is to assist the Project Manager and Superintendent on mitigation activities. Along with assisting management, technicians will perform mitigation services for both residential and commercial properties. This includes water extraction, structural drying, mold remediation, smoke and fire remediation, moisture and equipment monitoring, and thorough documentation.

1. Complete mitigation projects within scoped / approved timelines.
2. Become IICRC certified in all fields of remediation.
3. Perform jobs within IICRC and OSAH

Responsibilities

1. Assist on-site mitigation efforts from start to finish.
2. Report daily to the Superintendent.
3. Daily end of day Huddle calls to recap all jobs and to prepare for the next day.
4. Perform extraction, structural drying, demolition, and dehumidification.
5. Handle Mold remediation in accordance with IICRC
6. Operate hand tools, power tools, maintain a water-ready van, and maintain a clean shop.
7. Accurately document all work using platforms like Encircle and PSA.
8. Communicate job progress and expectations with internal teams (Project Manager and Superintendent).
9. Be on-call and be ready to respond to emergency calls during on-call rotation.
10. Be available for “All hands-on deck” situations, such as natural disasters, storms, or freezes.
11. Be team driven and willing to grow in all aspects of mitigation.
12. Ability to lift over 25 lbs.
13. Be willing to work in confined spaces.
14. Comfortable working in construction zones and extreme weather conditions.

Reporting / Typical Day

This position reports directly to the Mitigation Superintendent. A typical day for a mitigation technician will involve morning meeting daily, shop / vehicle upkeep, monitoring of equipment out on jobsites. Or any other task handed down from the direct supervisor. The job hours for this are 8:00am – 4:30pm. This is an emergency response business. Your day-to-day hours will not always reflect these hours as you may be in the field more than in the office.
